Linking Projects and Epics to Investment Funding in ServiceNow SPM

Hamza EL JIRARI

Hello,

Does ServiceNow SPM Investment Funding allow us to create global budget envelopes (for example, €300k in 2026 for SAP enhancements) and then consume this budget progressively as we work on projects, Epics, and user stories? If yes, what is the recommended way to associate a project, Epic, or user story with a specific investment?

NB : If not possible through SPM, is there another way to do it ?

Hello Hamza,

You can create a program for SAP enhancements in program table, then you being program manager can create a Top Level Investment for this program with 300k as investment. Further you can add projects to this program and allocate the funds to them.

p.s. Mark programs to true in Investment Entities menu.

Let me know if this helps.

Have you looked at Scenario Planning in the Strategic/Portfolio Planning Workspace?  You can set targets on your portfolio plan and fund the investments:  https://www.servicenow.com/community/spm-articles/announcing-scenario-planning-with-financials-in-st...

It's syncing all the cost data in the investment funding tables at the planning item level.  Also, epics (planning items) can have resource and cost plans now.  There was a bug that was fixed in the latest December release.
