Hi all

Wondering if anyone has an easy way to move existing project tasks to another exiting project?

was think a UI action would be good.

issue i have is i can change the project reference field, but looks like there are other connections to the project that i either cant see or cant update...

any and all help would be appreciated.

thanks

Carl

If you update the Parent field with the new Project, does the task transfer? I tested it, seems to work, but each system is different.

Can you explain the use case? This may help us right a user story to accommodate this better in the future.

That said...

There is a "copy partial project" capability that would allow you to insert (copy) tasks from another project   into your active project (and ensure the data is all there). The behavior here is to copy the task and its children into another project and was used before we had official template capabilities.

You would need to delete the tasks from the "old" project if you are really trying to "move" them.

Also, any progress would be reset.

I have achieved what i wanted, but simply edit the related list of task on the new project, selecting the appropriate task i wanted to move.   This removes them for one project and puts on new project, so result is ok.

bit of a cumbersome process when we are talking lots of tasks but done now.

Carlos, and you explain what related list you edited on the project task form?
