Need help on how the Planned Cost is calculated on Resource Plan

Hi,

I am little confused with the Planned Cost calculation on Resource Plan on Projects.

I created a Resource Plan as shown below which is for a specific user in the Group and the group has the hourly rate of $200

Based on my understanding it multiplies Planned Hours X Group hourly rate, if my understanding is correct Planned Cost should have been $8000 -> 40 X 200, but here the total planned cost is $16000

For doubt i created another Resource Plan where the get different result:

Hourly rate is same $200 for both the groups. Now you can see it is $4000 but it should have been the same $16000

Hi Shaik,

The rate on the group record is no longer used. The resource plan either uses a rate model if it exists and is applied to the project using the 'Rate Model' field, or will use the default value from the system property ('com.snc.time_card.default_rate'). The default value in this property is '50' which lines up with the numbers in your screen caps above.

You can still capture rates at the group level by building a rate line specifically for each group.

Need to find out if hte user is affected by a rate card.

Hey Robert,

This is happening in my personal instance and i dont have any rate card defined either through Rate Model field on Project form or through labor rate cards.

Not sure is there any other way how the total planned cost calculated ?

Is the currency on the Group for the effected resource plan 200$ or any other currency that has a conversion rate of 2?
