Hello -
Does anyone have good resources (videos, blogs, etc) for using operational plans in ITBM. This link is very generic:
I am interested in more of the process... what this allows you to do for capacity planning, I even thought I read somewhere that you can't use resource plans with operational plans?... the more bigger picture/work flow usage and impacts down the line
thanks in advance!

Hi
Operational resource plans are used to set aside part of the groups / resources' capacity for any kind of operational work. Typically resource managers create operational resource plans for their group for the whole year.
For example: As a group manager I would like to set aside 10% of my group's capacity for any kind of run activity such as KTLO, admin, meetings etc.
To keep it simple suppose I am a group manager and I have 2 members in my group. Each resource's capacity is 8 hours per day hence this group's capacity is 80 hours a week. To handle any unforeseen situation, I create an operational plan for this group for 1 week for 10% of group's capacity. This will result in 8 hours allocation as a result of this activity.
For build activities, the group's availability will now be shown as 72 hours and not 80 hours.
For more details, you can go through below document. Feel free in case you have any question, happy to help !
FYI, capacity set aside for the operational work can be referred from resource allocation workbench.
Thanks,
Namita Mishra

Hi Namita,
Can you help me with this query? Below is the question I posted. So that I can mark your answer correct later.
https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=2f9eec081bb73450cd3b33bc1d4bcbdc
when I pulled a report on "group_resource_aggregate_monthly" table, It was showing allocation records of the Project which they were not part of also.
Suppose If a User is part of 4 Projects, In the report pulled it is showing 6 projects are allocated. But when I open the other 2 projects they are not added/part of the project in the Resource Plan.
So I wanted to know If I am actually creating the right report or not. Please help?
Thanks,
Vaishnavi

Hi, I have a question about how it operational work is showed in the capacity planning. I do not understand why the operationl plan is not consider in this planning but it is showed.
Here is an example.
I create 2 RP (both are requested) for a Project Manager but in the capacity Planning I see both plans but only 1 is selected.
How can I know if a Person is really available?
Am I clear in my question? If we can not selected it is not consider in the capacity so it is impossible to have all the scennarios.
Thanks in advance.
