Hi All
I am hoping to get some assistance on how others are using the portfolio management workspace.
We have been using the basics for a while now in Portfolio Management,
My question is for our organisation we go through quarterly planning activities out of this we prioritise work ( demands, projects), and attach resource plans. As some of the work can be long running the resource plans can extend past the quarter ie 3months to 12months.
Has anyone been able to filter our the prioritised work and the attached resources plans for the quarter ( ie filter out low, medium priority Demands and Projects) and show Demands, Projects and Capacity/Availability metrics for the quarter. I have tried using the resource cards and portfolio planning workspace but its not filtering so we can show our executives this view
Appreciate any support and how others might have been able to achieve this

Hi Natasha,
That’s an excellent question, and it's a common need for quarterly planning. You're right to be using the Portfolio Planning workspace; it’s the correct tool for this. The key is to effectively use a combination of filters to get the view you need.
How to Achieve Your View
Use Filters: On the left-hand filter panel, you can combine filters to get the precise data you want:
Timeframe Filter: Select your specific quarter here. This will automatically show only the portion of your long-running resource plans that fall within this period.
Priority Filter: Select "High" and "Critical" (or whatever priorities you use) to filter out lower-priority work.
Understand Resource Metrics: Once you apply these filters, the Resource Cards and Resource Heatmap will automatically update to show capacity and availability metrics for only the prioritized work within the selected quarter. The workspace is designed to do this dynamically.
Why You Might Be Facing Issues: If the filtering isn't working as expected, double-check that your Demands and Projects have correct start and end dates, and that your Fiscal Calendar is properly configured.
By combining the Timeframe and Priority filters, you should be able to get a precise view of the most important work and associated resource capacity for any given quarter.
Hope this helps!
Thanks & Regards,
Muhammad Iftikhar,
