PPM : Long datatype is not supported in New Project Workspace

We have custom table where we have fields created with datatype - 'Long'.

Since, OOTB Long datatype is supported by ServiceNow, we have used 'Long' datatype while creation of table for many field per requirement.

Now, in the newly introduced ServiceNow project workspace, when we open the project, we are unable to edit the 'Long' datatype field. It was/is working fine in the table; this is the issue in the "new project workspace".

Can someone please suggest what was the reason that, Long datatype is not supported in the new project workspace.

Since, we have already created fields, and we are not able to change the datatype, neither we want to delete the same field and recreate - Is there any solution on this.

I don't think so its supported in workspace, Please check below link it doesn't show this datatype in list.

My Ask,

1. While creation of Table, servicenow allowed 'Long' datatype, same is there in the washington release doc as well.

2. field is already been created in the table since it is supported/allowed, now same table example pm_project is used for project workspace and 'Long' not supported in the new workspace, Then what is way forward  solution /workaround so that customer can edit the 'Long' datatype field created on table.

Deletion of field and recreation may not be the right choice since it will loss the data in table.
