Program key milestones are not showing in the program workbench timeline view

The docs site says that Program key milestone tasks should show up in the timeline view.  However, when I go to the Program Workbench and view our timeline, I do not see them.  Am I miss reading the documentation?  I was expecting the key milestones to show up in the top green bar of the program as diamonds or some other indicator.  Instead, all I see are the regular projects.

I created a program and it has 5 key milestones on the program tasks related lists.  When I view the program workbench, I do not see them in the timeline view.

My instance has been down for half a week so I can't dive deep but here's what I'd check.

Make sure that your key milestones have the milestone flag as well as key-milestone.
Make sure those key-milestone tasks are active.

Thanks!  I hope you can get your instance open!
There is automation on program tasks, so, when you click the key milestone checkbox, the regular milestone box is also checked.  And, yes, My tasks are still active.

I also have a completely OOB PDI and it's not working for me there either (in addition to Red Hat's environment).  I can always open a HI ticket, but was hoping you or someone in the community will have a suggestion.

Hi,

I initially had the same thought as you - that milestones would be visible on the green program-level bar at the top of the timeline. However, I'm now interpreting the documentation you cited to mean that the entire section in your screenshot, from the top bar with the show/hide columns button on the top left and the year on the top right on down including the program and related projects, is the Timeline View.

From that perspective, I see milestones on the Timeline View next to the project they belong to, in my current test that has one project. Based on that, and the fact that in scenarios where there are a lot of milestones that would likely make them difficult to see on the green program-level bar anyway, my conclusion is the meaning of the documentation is that milestones appear next to their projects, not on the green program-level bar, and therefore they are visible on the Timeline View.

If you submitted a support ticket, it would be very much appreciated to hear what you learned from it.
