Project Status Color is auto calculated?

I could not find any documentation explaining if the project status color is auto calculated and if so, how is it calculated? what makes the project green or red?

Script includes: PmProgramStatusReport & PmProjectStatusReport are responsible for the status update.

The Project "Status" is updated from the latest overall health status from the project status report or it can be set manually. What drives the different colors are the styles for project
