Hi SPM Experts,
I was checking how project task dependencies work.
i created project with project tasks
WBS - 1.1,1.2,1.3.1.4 are my project tasks. i added 1.1fs+0 dependency to my 1.2 project task similarly i added 1.2fs+0 dependency to my 1.3 project task and added 1.3fs+0 dependency to my 1.4 project task
dependency is working fine, but successor task is still editable, i mean user can still go and change successor task to in progress even if predecessor task is not completed.
how to control this? Successor task should be editable only after its dependency task is completed
Thank you

Hi @ZeeshanA9684002,
Thanks for raising your query in community.
The behavior that you have experienced is out of the box behavior.
In SPM - out of the box, task dependencies are used for scheduling logic and dates do roll up to the parent task. In other words, the task dates and duration logic is governed by setting the task dependencies.
Now in order to configure your use case, you can configure a business logic.
Hope this answers the query and if it does, please mark the response as correct to help me and other community members.
Happy SPM Journey!
Thank You!

Glad that you found the response useful.
Quick point - Adding your business rule is considered as configuration. This won't be considered as a customization.
Though I agree with you that it would be great to have this as out of the box capability.
Have a wonderful day!
Thank You!
