"project status" vs "status overall status"

Hi all,

Can someone tell  to me what will change the status in a project? Or it is a field you have to change manually.

I was assuming the "status report - overall health status" will reflect the project status. It is the instance HI instance

Andy,

I too thought that Status was derived from the Status Overall Status, but it is not. You have to set the Status field manually. I have this field exposed in my project list.

We are using this Status field from a PMO perspective to evaluate each project's Overall Health. Therefore the PMO routinely evaluates each project based upon objective and subjective criteria and gives it a Green, Yellow, or Red value.

Hi Francis,

I'm trying to achieve something similar to what you have. I would prefer the Overall Status to be exposed on the Projects list though, inherited from the latest project status report. But otherwise, I would do like you, but I only get the text "Green" etc, the Status field doesn't show the colour like other colour fields do. Do you know how to show the colour?
