Rate Model/ Rate Line Configuration

Hi Everyone,

I have a requirement regarding Rate Line configuration and would appreciate any guidance.

Requirement

1. We need to maintain a separate rate line for each employee/resource.
2. When a new rate line is created for a user, the existing active rate line for that user should automatically have its End Date updated (for example, to the day before the new rate line's Start Date).
3. A new rate line should then become the active rate for that resource.

Current Setup

• We removed the OOTB Planning Attributes and are using a custom attribute.
• In the Rate Model configuration, we selected Resource as the Entity and None as the Attribute.
• With this setup, we are able to create rate lines for individual resources and assign custom rates.

Issue

After creating rate lines with custom rates and assigning tasks to the users, the system still appears to use the OOTB default rate of $50 instead of the resource-specific rate that was configured.

Questions

1. What is the recommended approach to maintain separate rate lines for each resource?
2. How can we automatically update the End Date of the previous rate line when a new rate line is created?
3. Are there any additional configurations required in the Rate Model, Planning Attributes, or Resource Management setup to ensure the correct rate is applied?

Any suggestions or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
