Hi All,
This is regarding 'Group Tasks' tab in Time Sheet portal.
What I know is , If someone has to log timecard/ timesheet against the group task that is not directly assigned to them they can add the task to timesheet from Group Tasks and log the time against it.
When ITSM users log time against incident/change/problem then 'Group Tasks' option is very helpful.
But in our scenario, we are restricting the Tasks to be logged in Time Sheet portal to ONLY Projects and Project Tasks. Other tab will be used to log time against any operational tasks. We have customized categories created as per requirements.
Project manager will create Resource plans for each project, so when Resource plan moves to allocated state, the Project/Project tasks are automatically displayed in Time Sheet Portal 'Tasks' tab for users who are part of Resource plans. It doesn't require Project manager to assign this project to anyone via 'Assigned to'/'Assignment Group' fields.
So our customer is asking can we hide the 'Group Tasks' tab, as it is of no use. So I would want to understand the scenarios where we will be in need of 'Group Tasks' tab?
Please share the scenarios and suggest if I should hide this tab or not?
