There are 4 places where we can record rates for resources:
1. Rate model and Rate lines
2. Rate on Resource Role
3. Rate of Resource Group
4. Default Rate system property
On top of that we have a rate over ride (which is simply over rise a rate when creating resource assignment)
My confusion is around Resource assignment only (not resource plan please) - we are using a new format of resource assignment as new implementation.
Which takes precedence if rate is defined for all 4 options? What will be the order?

Hello @MS25,
Based on my experience and ServiceNow guidance, the rate precedence for Resource Assignments works like this:
Rate Override on the Resource Assignment: if you manually enter a rate here, it always takes top priority.
Rate Model assigned to the project or demand: if no override exists, the system uses the rate defined in the Rate Model (this can consider the resource’s role, group, or other criteria).
If no Rate Model is available:
Group or Role rates are applied based on the resource plan type.
4. Default Rate system property: if none of the above are defined, the system falls back to the default rate.
Related Community discussions:
What is the difference between 1) RESOURCE ROLE rate vs 2) RATE MODEL - role rate?
Rate Model - User Rate - Group Rate - Role Rate? Which One first?
