Resource Calendar purspose

Hi Friends!

Could someone tell me what is the purpose of the Resource Calendar? If pps_resources cannot fill it, if approved time filled in the resource's timesheets do not appear in the resource calendar, what is its purpose? Is it being deprecated or something?
