Tracking Team members Out-of-Office Plans in ServiceNow (My Calendar vs. Op. Resource Assignements)

Hello, I am seaking for an advise.

 

Our team needs a simple method for tracking pre-approved Out-of-Office (OOO) plans within ServiceNow. I am thinking of two approaches:

  1. Using the existing My Calendar feature: Allows self-service entry, but lacks group-based viewing/filtering or selection of multiple users.

  2. Using Operational Resource Assignments (Category: OOO): Potentially better for group visibility/reporting, but I amare concerned about the access control for viewing and creation.

Which native ServiceNow application or feature (e.g., Resource Management)  provides the best balance of:

  • Ease of OOO entry (by user or line manager).

  • Easy user/team/group-based OOO visibility (e.g., a dashboard or list view).

There is no need to process approval requests in SN as that is done in other HR tools outside of the SN.
Key feature is to enable to enter the out of office plans and to have access to view them, not only mine but the rest of the team.
