Stage Gate Process in SPM PPM

We are currently exploring SPM/PPM module in ServiceNow and in our current project mangement process we heavily use "Stage Gate" process. Is there a stage gate process in ServiceNow PPM or something  which is equivalent to "Stage Gate" Process in SPM.

You can put it in yourself, by adding stages to projects, where the project moves through the phases and holds at certain points, unless a decision has been made. If you can tell more about how it is applied, maybe it would help in getting more elaborate answers.

If you let tasks only start after a certain task has been approved, you can 'stage gate' your project. Are you also checking on the Strategic Planning? That could help in having to stage gate less, because decisions can be made upfront (before the project even starts).
