Strategic Planning - Demands, Projects vs Core Demands and Projects

Hi All,

I am exploring on Strategic Planning and found Strategic Planning Integrations. We have execution table and alignment table which created records based on set up. I am trying to understand when and where to use a Demand(dmn_demand) vs Demand(sn_align_core_demand). Can someone provide any information on how alignment works?

Thanks!

Hi @pramodkumar ,

Demand(dmn_demand) and Project(pm_project) - These table extends from task table. These are execution table which you generally access using Project Workspace and Demand Workbench to plan, execute and deliver your work.

Demand(sn_align_core_demand) and Project(sn_align_core_project) - These are extension of Planning Item(sn_align_core_planningitem) table. This is used for planning and creating portfolios in Portfolio Planning Workspaces/Strategic Planning Workspace. These tables can be connected with execution table by setting up integration. After integration is setup data flows bidirectionally from execution to planning item table and vice versa to update the details. Additional related records also created/updated bidirectionally including cost plan, milestones etc.

Note: Use execution tables for any planning and execution and Planning item table to plan your portfolio items.

If this answers your query mark this as correct/helpful.
