Hi Community,
I am trying to generate the resource capacity in the Strategic Planning Workspace, but I am unable to view any records.
I selected the Start Month (Sep 2025) and End Month (Oct 2025).
Chosen a Group (Servicenow Agile).
Clicked on View Capacity and also tried Regenerate capacity, but I still get the message “No records to display. No capacity details found. Try again with different combination.”
Here is the screenshot for reference:
Could you please guide me on what configuration might be missing?
Do I need to configure roles, calendars, or allocations separately before generating capacity?
Is there any setup required in Resource Management (like defining capacity in hours/days for resources) before it reflects here?
Any suggestions or steps would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Hi @sagar0711 ,
Verify the following:
- Verify users have pps_resource role.
- User record exists in Employee Profile (sn_employee_profile) table.
- For generating capacity based on group, role, skill (or any other attribute), make sure the primary attributes fields Primary Resource Group, Primary Resource Skill or Primary Resource role in sn_employee_profile table is not empty.
Thanks
Anand

Hi @anandmahaja
If we have added multiple roles for a user and we have used those roles into project tasks for resource assignment. As we have set a primary group and primary role for Employee profile of that user, how that is calculated under resource capacity in Portfolio Planning?
Primary Group: ServiceNow
Primary Role: Senior Software Engineer
We are getting correct capacity for "Senior Software Engineer" role but as we are using Design role also under ServiceNow group for same user and generated resource capacity, but it is showing Zero for that role.
Please let us know how this will be handled.
Thanks in advance!

It looks like the Strategic Planning Workspace isn’t showing any capacity because the system needs resource data and allocations set up before it can generate capacity. Usually, you need to make sure of a few things:
First, each resource should have a role assigned and a calendar defined (working hours, holidays, etc.). Without these, the system doesn’t know how much capacity each resource has.
Second, check that resources have allocations in the projects or groups you’re trying to view. If there’s no allocation data, the workspace won’t show any capacity.
Also, make sure that capacity is defined in Resource Management, either in hours or days, so the workspace has something to calculate.
Once roles, calendars, allocations, and capacity are properly configured, try Regenerate Capacity again. That should populate the records correctly.
Basically, the workspace relies on all the underlying configurations; missing any step can result in the “No records to display” message.
