Hi SN Community
Any help appreciated. I am struggling understanding the role rates.
Can anyone advise me the difference between 1) RESOURCE ROLE rate vs 2) RATE MODEL - role rate ?
For what purpose would each rate be pulled and when/where? (e.g. Resource Plan)
Example: I have a Senior Software Engineer. For item 1, the rate is $80. For item 2, the rate is $100.
1) RESOURCE ROLE - rate (e.g. Senior Software Engineer = $80)
2) RATE MODEL - rate line (e.g. Senior Software Engineer = $100)

I believe the rate model is used first if it defined. So, for most cases your defined role/group rates shouldn't matter.
However, if you don't have a rate model defined, OR, no rate lines match, then the system will try to apply a role/group rate if applicable. Last resort is the default role rate set by sys_properties table.
I may be missing some details here, but generally I think this is correct and has been working for me.
