What use cases would you use a Vendor vs. when you would utilize a Company?

A vendor record is stored in the same table as company. It just has the "Vendor" field marked as true.

Thanks Robert!
I understand that it is just a matter of checking the checkbox, but are their any definitional difference between the two? Why would you use one over the other?@

The asset management application and CMDB uses the field a lot. in the CMDB case you would relate the CI to the supplied vendor of that CI and same with Assets.

Well, there's not a whole lot of maturity around what the company table is used for. Generally I use the vendor checkbox to ensure "the companies we consume from" are quantified. This will come into play for Asset Management (and likely Data Normalization), as well as the Vendor Assessment modules.
