What use cases would you use a Vendor vs. when you would utilize a Company?

If you are using asset management and procurement you may want to filter your company list based off of that checkbox. You probably don't want to assign assets to a vendor. You want those to be assigned to your company (or companies in our case). When doing a purchase order you only want to see vendors when you are filling in the Vendor field. It just gives you flexibility for filtering the list for different forms.

just as robert said think of it as a vendor is a company but a company is not always a vendor as per the check box. There should be a simple reference qualifier on the vendor field vendor = true.
