What is the difference between Agile Team and Agile Development

What is the difference between Agile Team and Agile Development? I see that Agile Team is free addon but Agile Development is part of SPM Pro version. Is there any right documentation to refer?

@Mihir YSSS ,

Thank you for providing that image!  This makes much more sense now!  It looks like this is a cut out of the SPM slide (Slide # 10) on the SN Washington Pricing & Packaging Slides.  This could also be from Slide 11 for SPMT.  If you look on the right-hand side of that SPM or SPMT PPT Slide, you will see that it states that Agile Development is bundled with SPM Professional and isn't included with SPM Standard.  It is bundled with SPMT Professional and isn't included with SPMT Standard.  Agile Development is the 13th item down starting at the top of the list of features included with SPM on Slide 10 and and 14th item down starting at the top of the list of features included with SPMT on Slide 11.  This means that you have to purchase SPM Professional or SPMT Professional to get Agile Development to be included in that bundle.  But... this is a licensing discussion and you need to speak with your SN License Reseller to confirm all of these details because it does vary sometimes.

Happy Agile Development!

Hi @Mihir YSSS!

I suspect that we might just be getting hung up on terminology.

  • An Agile Team is essentially a SN Assignment Group that is configured to work with the Agile Development Module.  This makes it possible for this specific SN Assignment Group to be able to work within the Agile Development Module.  Link to instructions on how to create an Agile Team:  https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-it-business-management/page/product/agile-developmen...
  • The Agile Development Module is a SN Application that allows you to manage your development activities utilizing the Agile Development Methodology within ServiceNow.  This is available as a plugin and does require a license, however it is sometimes bundled with another SN Product such as SPM so I could understand why you might think it is free.  I would recommend that you check with your SN License Reseller to verify what licenses you own and if you are entitled to enable the Agile Development 2.0 plugin in your environment.  Link to instructions on how to activate the Agile Development 2.0 Plugin:  https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-it-business-management/page/product/agile-developmen...
  • There is a Work Status for Agile Teams Plugin that is also available.  Work Progress Status for Agile Teams provides a GYR (green, yellow, red) progress status and an estimated completion date on Agile 2.0 Epics.  This plugin is available for purchase on the SN Store.  Note:  This plugin also requires the Agile Development 2.0 plugin and Performance Analytics.  SN Store Link: at:  https://store.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/store/application/7e0aa9ed8755101047d84c2c59cb0b...

For my instance I have SPM Standard out of the box. You may want to check with your account team to see if this is the case and that you have Agile Development Standard. We recently noticed this the last time we renewed our licensing that Agile Development was included. The only difference is you won't have access to the Scrum program planning board. This all could be because we have CSM licensing instead of ITSM so again check with your account team. You may also have access to Release Management which is something else you could use for development.
