Demand Management – dedicated workspace or permanently part of the Strategic Planning Workspace?

Hi SPM Community,
I am currently working on the target picture for the demand process in several customer projects and would like to better understand the long-term product direction.
Here is how I see the current situation:
- Demands are an integrated part of the Strategic Planning Workspace as a planning item type (Portfolio Planning / Roadmap Planning), including conversion into execution items such as projects or epics.
- At the same time, ServiceNow is visibly investing in the demand record itself – in the Australia release, for example, the Docs tab for business cases and product requirements, plus AI summarisation for unstructured demand content.
- In parallel, there are clearly separated, dedicated workspaces for other SPM domains: Project Workspace and Resource Management Workspace.
That leads me to the following questions:
- Will Demand Management strategically remain an integrated part of the Strategic Planning Workspace, or is a dedicated Demand (Management) Workspace planned in the mid to long term – comparable to Project Workspace and Resource Management Workspace?
- Which further consolidations or bundlings of workspaces are on the roadmap? Is the direction more towards consolidation (one planning workspace for everything) or towards specialisation (more role-specific workspaces)?
- Are there already official statements on this in delta decks, capability maps or roadmap sessions that we can point customers to when defining a target architecture?
Background: For architecture decisions (process design, forms vs. workspace configuration, custom effort, enablement of business departments) it makes a significant difference whether we position the Strategic Planning Workspace as the permanent target UI for demands today, or whether we should expect a future shift.
I would very much appreciate input from the community and – ideally – from SPM Product Management.
Thanks in advance and best regards
