Not working with it myself, but since you are new, I would start on NowLearning and follow the courses around Public Sector Digital Services. If you know how it all ties together, what is needed, how an implementation is done, you also understand what kind of administrative tasks will come and will also help you in the long run by handling the requests, changes and issues related to this.

Understanding the process as ServiceNow intended it, is always the best place to start. And then check on any customization on your instance to find out what was done (and, more important, why).

Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.

Hi @RajbeerK

I’m a ServiceNow-trainer, and in my view, it doesn’t really matter whether you're in the public sector or not — the nature of the admin role is largely the same across most domains. I work as a Business Analyst/BPC and have also taken on admin responsibilities. That said, the scope of the 'System Admin' role can vary significantly from company to company.

For example, I’ve seen some friends in admin roles who mostly handle no-code or low-code tasks like adding users, updating groups, modifying SLAs, etc. On the other hand, I know others who have taken their role further by writing scripts and handling more technical configurations.
