Course is free but exam is not?

I took a year away from this course to continue with my current job. I came back and everything has changed. Just confirming, the courses are all free now but you must pay to take any exam?

Yes mate that is expected. Last year all on demand training were free but for exam you need to pay. There is no way to get this free until unless you work with a partner organizationsl.

Reason for changes in course level ServiceNow has upgraded the version from Utah to Vancouver and then Washington

 

And also they have make course is free and only exam is paid because they don't want to remove the value of that certification as I believe.
