Prepping for my CSA exam. Anyone have any recommendations for study material or things I should focus on?

I asked Claude to create 100 flashcards, split into 4 parts by theme > The mix leans toward database and security, since that’s the biggest exam domain. depending on your prompting you can create hints, references etc. Takes all but 1 min to do and you can run through few of those. The real exam leans on scenarios and includes multiple-select questions, which this will not replicate without much more effort.

Tips for the CSA Exam (Certified System Administrator)

CSA is the first and foundational exam in your ServiceNow journey. Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively:

  • Study the training material thoroughly – Go through it line by line, word by word, at least 2–3 times.

  • Practice the labs multiple times – Do each lab 3–4 times. Don’t just complete them; carefully read and understand the instructions as well.

  • Follow the official eBook – Review it thoroughly at least 2–3 times to reinforce your understanding.

I recommend starting with the official ServiceNow CSA learning path and reviewing the exam blueprint. Focus on tables and forms, lists and filters, users and groups, ACLs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, update sets, reports, and Flow Designer. Practice these concepts hands-on in a PDI, and take mock tests to identify weak areas.
