Hello everyone, I am new in servicenow and wants to know how long I should take to prepare for the exam after I receive a voucher.

I'm not sure how much of the learning courses you've done, but it's said that 6 months of using the ServiceNow platform is recommended before taking the cert, along with the courses. I'd say somewhere in that timeframe should be enough to pass.

As a ServiceNow trainer, let me share my experience and answer your questions.

1. Voucher Process

The first thing to note is that the voucher concept is no longer applicable.

Since November 2025, ServiceNow changed its exam delivery vendor to Pearson VUE. As a result, exam vouchers are no longer accepted.

You can now book your certification exam in one of the following ways:

• Using Learning Credits (if your organization has them).
• By making a self-payment directly through the Pearson VUE booking process.

You can refer to the official exam booking guide for the complete steps on how to schedule your exam.

2. Exam Preparation Timeline

Regarding preparation, it ultimately depends on your dedication, consistency, and hands-on practice.

If you have already completed the CSA training and have good hands-on experience with the platform, I believe you can be ready for the exam within 2–4 weeks.

During this time, I recommend that you:

• Revise the official training material thoroughly.
• Repeat the hands-on labs multiple times.
• Practice in your Personal Developer Instance (PDI).
• Review the official documentation and Knowledge Base articles.
• Focus on understanding the concepts instead of memorizing questions.

With consistent preparation and practical experience, you should be well prepared to take the exam.

Tips for the CSA Exam (Certified System Administrator)

CSA is the first and foundational exam in your ServiceNow journey. Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively:

• Study the training material thoroughly – Go through it line by line, word by word, at least 2–3 times.

• Practice the labs multiple times – Do each lab 3–4 times. Don’t just complete them; carefully read and understand the instructions as well.

• Follow the official eBook – Review it thoroughly at least 2–3 times to reinforce your understanding.
