I am thinking someone out there must have come across the same challenge I am currently dealing with and hoping there may be a solution out there other than manually updating 600+ modules.
Scenario:
Our Admin account has embedded roles which are no longer licensed and we are in the process of trying to remove them. In order to test out the new admin role, I have created a new test role with, what I hope, is all the necessary roles and contained roles for our admin accounts to run correctly. For simplicity, lets just call it Admin TEST. If it works, I will simply remove the inappropriate roles in prod. (We found removing some of the "inappropriate roles" broke our admin accounts access.
Requirement:
I need to mass update all 600+ modules in our DEV instance, which contain "Admin" role with the new role "Admin TEST" I have searched through the community and any solutions I have found are older and no longer viable as it looks like those loopholes have been closed. We've tried to run a script in the background and, while it appears to not error out, it does NOT add the new role to the modules.
Has anyone encountered and overcome this same type of issue? Is there a way to mass update the modules with the new role? Doing this one by one is like killing myself with a 1000 tiny cuts 🙂
