Remote Instance Test Connection Fails with 401 Unauthorized

Hi ServiceNow Community,

I am trying to configure a Remote Instance in ServiceNow for Update Set transfer, but I am unable to establish the connection.

Remote Instance Configuration

Name: Performance Details
Type: Development
Active: Yes
URL: Entered correctly URL
Username: admin
Password: Entered correctly

When I click Test Connection, I receive the following error:

Authentication to remote instance failed

Hi John,

I have been observing that behavior recently as long as ServiceNow reducing the capability for a Human to log on the platform using a login and password.

You can create an integration user on your remote instance with

- the admin role

- Identity type Machine

- Internal Integration User

This user does not have to be in Production.
