Stepper component showing incorrect status

Hello,

I tried configuring the 'Stepper' following below document.

But the status fields are not in sync with the table.(Refer image ending with 4505)

When I tried giving the states manually using static values in items under config, the stepper is not getting updated along with the record. (Refer image ending with 4517)

Please Suggest if there is any additional configuration that needs to be done or the areas I need to relook
