Hello,

I am planning to get CSA certification. I am an HRA , and i am planning to transition into HR Tech. As far as my understanding by passing exam i can get only theoritical knowledge but it will not provide me hands on experience. In real world, passing exam is not suffiecient enough. i need to be experince enough to work with senior system administrator. Does ServiceNow offer guided projects or past hackathons arviced for practice. I have looking for hands on projects which are beyond just certifications. Certification standalone is not enough to get a job.

Also as you are planning to transition to HR Tech , 

This path you can follow:

• Complete "Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) Fundamentals" , and then prepare for CIS-HRSD certification.
• Choose implementer of HRSD in Servicenow Provided Career Journey path.

Currently ServiceNow doesn't currently provide a internship or project program specifically for CSA candidates.

However you can document your projects on GitHub or LinkedIn with screenshots and architecture explanations. A portfolio demonstrating practical ServiceNow solutions often carries more weight in interviews than certifications alone.

You're absolutely right that earning the CSA certification alone is not enough to become job-ready. It gives you a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its concepts, but real-world roles require hands-on experience as well. The best way to gain that experience is by requesting a Personal Developer Instance (PDI) and building your own applications, workflows, integrations, and automations using features like Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Service Catalog. ServiceNow University also provides guided labs, and the ServiceNow Community regularly shares practical use cases and learning resources. While ServiceNow occasionally hosts hackathons and developer events, the most valuable experience often comes from creating your own end-to-end projects that simulate real business scenarios. Since you're transitioning from HR to HR Tech, I'd also recommend exploring HR Service Delivery (HRSD) after completing your CSA, as your HR domain knowledge will be a strong advantage. A combination of certification, hands-on projects, and an active learning portfolio is what will best prepare you to work alongside experienced ServiceNow administrators and developers.
