why does on-call calendar subscription does not pick up shift overrides?

We have defined an on-call schedule and a rotation. Following the instructions here https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-it-service-management/page/administer/on-call-schedu...

we have sent out subscription emails. When someone subscribes to the calendar it pulls in the persons on-call schedule but it does not include any shift overrides the person may have entered for someone else's shift. Nor does it exclude a day you are on the base schedule, but someone has overridden your shift. This seems to be a glaring oversight since the subscription does not reflect the totality of the final resulting shifts as they show up in the calendar. Is this by design? What am I missing?

I have determined that the calendar subscription DOES pick up overrides, but it may take up to 8 hours for them to appear at least if you are using google calendar. There is a separate issue where it is picking up the entire teams overrides and putting them on your calendar which I have logged a bug for this, but it IS picking up overrides at least. My issue was just not understanding the delay or the frequency with which my calendar was requesting updates from SNOW.
