Thanks for this post. It's the first one that pops up when googeling for: servicenow disable next experience for a user

 

I've become more and more used to Next Experience/Polaris, but I still can't get over the fact that the Watch field functionallity is gone here - extremely frustrating.

 

The solution to this is to setup UI16 for an admin user and Impersonate that user, to watch a field.

 

But to summarize your post in short:

  1. sys_user_preference.LIST
  2. Find and open "glide.ui.polaris.use"
  3. Insert and Stay
  4. Uncheck "System" and select desired "User"
  5. Set Value to "false"
