Agile Development 2.0 Simulator Micro Certification

Manuel Stimac

Hello all fellow learners!

as I haven't found any article regarding the Agile Development 2.0 Simulator Micro Certification I will share what I have done on my simulator instance.

Summary

The Micro Certification consists of six main tasks.

  1. Request your simulator instance
  2. Verify the necessary plugins
  3. Import data
  4. Update sprint property
  5. Configure timesheet policy
  6. Activate data collection

Request your simulator instance

First step is to request you instance. Simply click on "". No Time for a cofe! The process is pretty fast and you will have your instance in a few seconds.

Verify the necessary plugins

Second step is to verify the installed plugins. Usually the setup takes care of it and no action is needed. By searching for "plugins" you can search for all installed and available plugins. The following should be already installed:

  • Agile Development 2.0
  • Agile Development 2.0 - ATF Tests
  • Agile Development - Unified Backlog
  • Scrum Programs
  • Performance Analytics Content Pack for Agile 2.0

Is there one missing? No problem, just install it. Still not installed? In this unlikely case please raise a case to the NowLearning Team.

✔️Validate the task

Import data

Next step is to import some demo data to work with. You should find the link to an .xlsx file in the description of your task. Download it and note the path saved to.

Create a new data source (sys_data_source).

Do not forget to specify the "Header row"!

Save the new data source and stay at the form. Attach the .xlsx file directly to the data source:

To verify the data source simply test load the data:

View the loaded data and open the first entry:

Create now a new transform map (sys_transform_map) to transform your data into the correct target table (rm_story):

To map the fields use the "Auto Map Matching Fields". Verify the auto map by clicking "Mapping Assist":

Ensure the six columns are properly mapped and save the mapping.

Now the data can be transformed by clicking "Transform":

Verify the transform:

✔️Validate the task

Update sprint property

Fourth step is to update the standard sprint duration from 14 to 21 days.

There is a system property (sys_properties) called "com.snc.sdlc.scrum.pp.default_sprint_length" to specify the duration:

You can list edit the value as requested to 21.

Next is the creation of a new agile group. You can find it in the filter navigation by searching for "Agile group":

Update the group capacity to "45":

In the related list "Sprints" create a new one:

The new sprint will be set up with 21 days duration.

✔️Validate the task

Configure timesheet policy

To update the timesheet policy that users can automatically fill the time cards with the time spent to complete the task, configure the default policy (time_sheet_policy):

Check "Auto fill time card with time worked entries".

✔️Validate the task

Activate data collection

This step is a little tricky as the validation will not allow you to set all up in on go 😉

Open the data collection job (sysauto_pa) "[Scrum] Daily Data Collection" & switch to the correct application:

Update the "Relative start" to 60 & the "Run as" to any user with the "pa_admin" or "pa_data_collector" role:

Execute the job now! The logs should show several thousand processed entries:

Next step is to edit the data collection again and update the "Relative start" to "1" & check "Active" to activate the daily schedule.

✔️Validate the task

All done! I hope this the right inspiration for your next Micro Certification!

Happy learning!
