CIS-ITSM Voucher Expiration & CIS-DF Requirement

Hi All, 

So, I have the CIS-ITSM voucher that supposedly will expire in April.  I heard of the new requirement of the CIS-DF must be obtained before I can take any other CIS exams, including the CIS-ITSM. Does my current CIS-ITSM still expire like originally scheduled or what?

No, vouchers are no longer used/required. 

You need to take and pass the CIS-DF exam, complete any other prerequisites, and then you can take the CIS-ITSM exam. 

But there's no longer a requirement to have or obtain a voucher, as such.

From November 2025, ServiceNow (SN) changed its exam vendor. Under the new vendor, the concept of voucher expiration has been introduced. This means that once you complete the training, you can book the exam at any time; however, after requesting the voucher, you must appear for the exam within 90 days.

Along with this change, ServiceNow has also introduced a new prerequisite certification — Data Foundations, which is now mandatory before attempting the ITSM certification.

• The CIS - DF (CMDB & CSDM) certification exam will be offered free of charge from December 15, 2025 through June 30, 2026, eliminating financial barriers and encouraging wider adoption.
• The prerequisite of having the Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM) (CIS-DF (CMDB and CSDM) certification before taking any of the following exams, is temporarily suspended through January 31, 2026, allowing users already pursuing implementation specialist certifications to complete their journeys without delay.
