Clarification on Delta Exam Requirement for CSA Certification (Washington DC version)

Rishabh_N

Hi everyone,

Can someone please guide me? I’m quite confused about the new annual delta exam requirement.

If I take the CSA Certification for the Washington DC version, when will I need to take the delta exam? Additionally, when do I need to pay for the delta exam? I read in the ServiceNow knowledge article that the delta exam is now required annually. Could someone explain what this means in terms of timing and payment?

Here’s the link to the knowledge article I read:
Delta Exam Maintenance Cycle FAQ

I would appreciate any help to clear up my confusion.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Rishabh_N

For your situation, Since you have written the CSA Exam in  the Washington version , you do need to take the Xanadu delta that's coming up later this year(probably starting from Jan 15 2025 through April 15 2025)

Thanks and regards

Hello @Rishabh_N

You have to take the Delta exam on Xanadu version.

You have taken Washington DC for this year. You have to take Delta for Xanadu.

Please refer this screenshot which will clearly explain the scenario

Hello @Rishabh_N

You will have to pay for Delta exam is Xanadu

(You have to pay for maintenance and access deltas)

You need not to pay in Yokohama, then again You have to pay for maintenance in Zurich. It's alternative version, you have to pay, appear for Delta and renew the Certification.

Hi @Rishabh_N

You don't actually pay to sit the delta exams. Rather, as @Dr Atul G- LNG has mentioned in a previous reply, you pay a $200 per year certification maintenance fee. That fee is not charged until a year after you pass your certification. So that means you will not have to pay anything to sit the Xanadu delta.

You mention you paid $70 to buy a CSA voucher? I hope that was through NASSCOM or some other legitimate programme, because otherwise it's either not valid or could see you banned by ServiceNow.

The only legitimate way to obtain a CSA is by completing the official ServiceNow course.

Hello @Rishabh_N

Since it is only one month left to appear for Xanadu certification, I suggest you wait till January 15.

But if you appear for any interviews in between, then it would be good to have CSA and it will add weight to your Resume.

When you join any organisation, the org will usually provide learning credits (if it's a Partner) or reimburse the Maintenance fee (if it's a Customer). I'm your case, you will have one year validity for ServiceNow voucher, so you can take it at the right time.... (before applying for any positions, complete it and add it to your Resume)

As @Simon Hendery and @Dr Atul G- LNG mentioned it's rather a Maintanence fee and not a fee for Delta exam. (You do have to pay maintenance fee to access the upcoming deltas)

Could you please clarify one more thing? If I take the exam in Washington DC, how long will I continue to get free delta exams? How many versions of delta exams (e.g., Xanadu, Yokohama, Zurich, etc.) will I not have to pay for?

I’ve attached a screenshot of the reference for context.
