Clarification on Webcam Requirement for CSA Exam

Greetings!

Is it mandatory to have an external webcam for the CSA exam, or is the built-in laptop camera sufficient?

Built-in laptop camera is generally sufficient for the exam. However, I personally recommend attending the exam from a designated exam center instead of taking it from home.

The reason is that if any  issues arise, the exam center staff can help resolve them . One of my colleagues faced such an issue during the exam. While this doesn’t happen every time, it’s safer and more convenient to take the exam from the center.

Hi @KiranGanesA,

After introduction of Pearson VUE, no more external webcam required. Laptop's built-in camera is sufficient to attempt your exam.

However, I'm suggesting you that attempt your exam at the test centre because if any interruption happens support will be provided.

As per Pearson Vue exam guide (refer: https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/servicenow/onvue.html ),

 You just need in-built laptop camera, external camera is no longer required.

Minimum Requirements

• Windows 10 or macOS 14 (or higher)
• Working webcam, microphone, and speaker (no headphones or headsets) *
• One display screen only (multi-monitor setups are not permitted)
• Stable internet connection with at least 6 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload
• Ability to close all applications except OnVUE
