From Struggling Newbie to Confident Admin: Why I Now Teach Others to Build It The Right Way

I remember opening ServiceNow for the very first time.

I had no idea what I was doing. I clicked around cautiously, created a few records, broke a few more, and hoped I wouldn’t crash the entire system. I wasn’t just learning a tool—I was learning how to think like an admin, and there wasn’t much guidance that truly clicked with me.

That moment sparked something.

Fast forward to today, and I’m now teaching others the exact journey I wish I had when I was starting out—with a clear philosophy: Build It The Right Way.

That’s more than a tagline. It’s a mindset. It means understanding the why behind the how. It means building systems with scalability, clarity, and purpose—because configuration isn’t just about making something work. It’s about making it work well.

That’s what my course "Foundations of ServiceNow Administration: Build It The Right Way" is all about.

This isn't just a checklist of technical topics. It’s a structured, hands-on learning experience that reflects real scenarios:

Navigating both classic and modern interfaces
Creating and managing incidents
Setting up and customizing your own instance
Building catalog items, flows, dashboards, and notifications
Working with the CMDB, data tables, and access control
Understanding how to test, package, and deploy safely
And finally, completing a capstone project that brings it all together

I also released a YouTube video where I walk through the entire journey in story format. It's not just training—it's a conversation, and I invite you to be part of it.

If you're just getting started, or if you're helping others on their journey, I hope this content empowers you to not just use ServiceNow—but to build confidently, intentionally, and yes... the right way.

Let’s build something great—together.
