Hello,

Quick question. When a task is assigned to a user, the tasks that shows up in the "My Task" area, does that task last forever or does it "expire" or is removed after a set period of time?

This depends on the "Task" being displayed. The "My Task" area will display different types of records depending on how its been configured. For example, if you have approvals configured for this then they would drop if someone else approves, approval is no longer required, etc.

The Tasks displayed can be found by navigating to the "Employee Center" application menu > Administration > To-dos configuration. If your approvals don't have any special conditions built in them then, typically there's no expiration.

Thank you for that!

What kinds of tasks show up in the "My Task" area? Also, let's say that the user is the only approver so no other outside action will remove the task. Will it then last forever, or does it "expire"?

The kind of tasks would depend on the Groups/Roles that are assigned to you. The tasks would not expire. They either would have to be actioned by you/re-assigned to another user/group.
