Its Really disappointing that service-now is charging 200$ for the maintenance and thinking what would they maintain for the certifications which cost them 200$ for individual user.

There is so much focus on the $200 being charged as a maintenance fee, but not a lot of focus on all the free/reduced costs you will be getting. The Admin course used to be $2,400, now partners get that for free. Many courses will go on-demand and will only cost $450 to get a certification voucher for non-partners vs. over $1,000 that it is today.

Is admin voucher still free?

Unbelievable, quite strange step for so big company to oblige individuals to pay more. If i previously thought that i need to spend 30 min to google the answers in Release Notes to pass technically say "useless" Delta Exam. But Now i need along with that to pay extra 200$. Seems  Starting Paris it has to just ignore Delta Exams.

The table mentioned is misleading.

It is perceived that certification cost is $300 USD for Certified Application Developer (Lets say)

The pre-requisite for enrolling in CAD is "Application Development" course. This course costs much more than $300 USD

If you fail your Deltas four times, you will loose the certification and have to re-take the class. I would imagine just not doing the deltas will have the same outcome, so paying to retake a class vs paying the maintenance fee might be something to consider here

The $200 fee just for maintaince is a deal breaker for me. 2 years ago, when the Delta certifications were introduced we were promised it wouldn't cost us any money to keep certified. Seems that ServiceNow has some severe memory issues. For me, this is a deal breaker. I will advice any company I consult NOT to invest in ServiceNow, as their word is unreliable and there is only a very limited chance for ROI when considering all the hidden costs coming your way.

TJ Off course people focus on the $200, it is an annually recurring fee that ALL non-partner certification holders will have to pay. It is not something I am willing to pay. My employer forked over near 10K to get me certified less than 2 years ago. The implementation of the tool is not even completely finished. You just can't reach ROI with this operating model. I am advising my employer to re-evaluate implementing any more modules.

I have to admit...this sucks big time. 200$ is way too much.

This will make companies reconsider their choice of platform specially smaller companies I guess.
