Seeking Clarification on CPOA (Certified Platform Owner Associate) Exam Question Types

Hi Guys,

I hope you're all doing well.

I'm scheduled to take the Certified Platform Owner Associate (CPOA) exam soon and I'm trying to finalize my study strategy.
My experience so far is with exams like the CSA, CAD, and ITSM, which consist of multiple-choice and multiple-select questions. I was wondering if I should expect the same for the CPOA exam.
Could anyone who has taken it recently confirm if the exam is entirely multiple-choice, or if there are other types of questions I should prepare for, such as fill-in-the-blank, free-text responses, or any scenario-based questions that require more detailed answers?
Knowing the question format will be a huge help in focusing my preparation.

you can refer to the exam blueprint: Certified Platform Owner Associate (CPOA) Exam Mainline Blueprint, it mentions following: 

Item Types

Matching Item

Each matching question on the exam presents two lists of related terms, concepts, or statements. Candidates must correctly pair items from one list with their corresponding matches in the other. There are 3 different types of matching items:

1. 1. Each list contains the same number of items and there is a one-to-one match for each.
   2. One list contains more options than the other, requiring candidates to identify the correct matches without using all options.
   3. Items in the second list can match to more than one item from the first list. 

However, each item in the first list has only one correct match in the second list. Partial credit is not awarded, ensuring that candidates must provide all correct matches to receive full credit for the question. 

Multiple Choice (single answer)

For each multiple-choice question on the exam, there are at least three possible responses. Select the correct response. 
 

Multiple Select (select all that apply)

There are at least four possible responses for each multiple-select question on the exam. The question will state how many responses should be selected. Select ALL correct responses. Partial credit is not provided. 

Scenario Based Item

A scenario-based exam question presents a real-world situation or problem that the candidate must address using their knowledge, skills, and understanding of the subject matter. These questions often require the candidate to analyze the scenario, identify relevant information, and apply appropriate solutions or steps. These questions may be formatted as either multiple choice or multiple select.

There's a pool of many questions (simplified example, let's say 200 in total) and each candidate receives 70 questions. So 3 people taking the exam at the very same second will have slightly different pool of questions to answer, it is not possible to say exact amount of each question type. But in my experience it doesn't really matter in the end.

Just Ensure you have completed Certified Platform Owner Associate (CPOA)  course thoroughly .

Question would be scenario based - To clear those ensure your core concept is clear.

Check the Exam scope from Certified Platform Owner Associate (CPOA) Exam Mainline Blueprint 

Ensure you are comfortable with all Domain's (under exam scope) questions.

Practice well with mock question . It will improve your time management. If you fail to give answer, revisit the Fundamental course again.

Hi  

Being a CPOA item writer and certified professional, I can say that the CPOA is primarily theory-based, with only a few scenario-based questions. The pattern is similar to what we see in mainline exams—multiple choice, drag-and-drop, etc.

To prepare for the CPOA exam, it’s best to follow the standard learning course, which will be more helpful. Reading line by line is important, as the focus is largely on theoretical understanding and testing how well you know the platform and its various components.
