Is the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals the same course as the ServiceNow Fundamentals? I completed the ServiceNow Fundamentals on Demand course for the San Diego release and received my System Administrator certification after taking the exam (October 2022). On the System Administrator path webpage, it shows that I completed the Welcome to ServiceNow course and the exam, but it says I need to take the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals course to complete the path. I will gladly take the course, I just did not want to pay without first making sure it isn't the same course as the ServiceNow Fundamentals course that I already took. It says the Administration Fundamentals is a prerequisite for the CSA certification, which I already have.
Can someone clarify please? Thanks!

Hi there,
I believe the naming of the Fundamentals course recently changed. Though to be sure: raise a case on Now Learning. There they can also fix it if your courses are registered incorrectly.
Kind regards,
Mark

How the New Training Affects You Moving Forward
Question | Answer |
How I see a syllabus for the course? | Public facing details are available on the course description landing page. |
How much do the courses cost? |
|
I planned to enroll in SNF. How can I get access and still take it? | SNF will no longer be available for new enrollment after October 30th. However, our two new classes, Welcome to ServiceNow (free!) and ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals, offer all the core concepts from SNF, plus additional bonus content. |
How do Students “catch up” on the net new content if they just finished SNF? | Students who completed SNF are welcomed to enroll in the new SNAF course to explore additional bonus content at their own pace. New content for administrators is being released continuously in Now Learning, and we encourage all learners to continue exploring the portfolio and building their ServiceNow skills. For Tokyo content new to SNAF, check out the release notes available on the docs site (notes). Use release notes to learn what’s changed from release to release and keep practicing. |
Will we be required to pay for SNAFF even though we completed SNF? | Yes, SNAFF offers new content that is not in SNF. Existing curriculum from SNF is updated to Tokyo in SNAFF. |
Can I replace SNAFF as a pre-req for SNF? | No, if pre-req is required within a learning path you must take SNAFF pre-reg, and cannot be amended with SNF. |
How will we determine which learning paths will have the Welcome to ServiceNow course as a pre-req, vs. which ones have the CSA (or SNAF and SNAA) as a pre-req? | Verify with the Learning Path Doc. It is being updated on Oct 26 on our public site to include the most current updates. |
Can we have a Tailored Training course with SNAF or SNAA and other courses (as we did with SNF and SAA)? |
|
Past Enrollment/Accomplishments and Any Additional Requirements
Question | Answer |
If I already have my CSA (or took SNF), should I go back and take the new course(s)? | If you currently hold the Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certification the change in this course has no impact on you. You do not need to go back and take this new course. If you completed SNF and have not yet earned the CSA Certification, reference the CSA Exam Blueprint to identify the learning domains for the exam. The SNF course covered all the exam learning domains, so you do not need to complete the new course(s). Beginning 11/3/2022 all certification exams will be on the Tokyo release. Certification exams focus more on concept than release-specific information, however, if you would like to review all updates for the Tokyo release before the exam, reference ServiceNow Product Documentation. |
If I enrolled/have taken SNF, will I have access to SNAF? and- If I enrolled/have taken SAA, will I have access to SNAA? | No, these are different courses. |
I enrolled in SNF because of the promotion that ended in October. Will I still have access? | Yes, you will continue to have access to SNF for one year from your enrollment date. |
Are people who took SNF less qualified than those who take the new SNAF course? | No, they are qualified equally. |
If I passed my CSA for the older classes, what does this mean for my job? Do I have to take the new courses? | No, please continue taking delta exams to maintain your certifications. |
If you currently have your CSA, are you granted in the new exam that is covered in SNAF? | You are not granted into the new exam that is covered in SNAF. Please continue taking delta exams to maintain your certifications. |
What about existing CSAs who plan to take their delta exam? | If you currently hold the Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certification the change in this course has no impact on you. You do not need to go back and take this new course. You are expected to maintain your certification by completing the Mainline Delta Exams and pay the Certification Maintenance Program (CMP) Fee if you have held your certification for more than a year. |
Do students have access to a person to discuss the differences between the old and new courses? | If you have a specific question, please don’t hesitate to open a Case in Now Learning. It will get routed to the appropriate team for response. |
