ServiceNow System Administrator Training/Exam Guide

Hello Everyone,

I’m an HR professional about to begin my journey as a ServiceNow System Administrator (for a start). To get started, I’m looking for a study guide or plan to help me along the way. I’ve already started watching some YouTube videos and going through various online guides, but a more recent or updated guide would be greatly appreciated. It would also be wonderful to have a mentor who can provide guidance and help point me in the right direction, especially areas that align with my HR background, if there is anything of such in ServiceNow. Perhaps, it could be other areas as well.

Thank you!

Hi @Olujoesy

I am a ServiceNow trainer, and I'm happy to share my thoughts here. ServiceNow has grown significantly, and learning it can be challenging due to its depth and breadth. Most people begin with roles like CSA, Admin, or basic administration to start in ServiceNow. You can begin by picking an Admin course on Now Learning or ServiceNow University, completing the training, and then getting hands-on experience before sitting for the exam.

For practice, you can use a Personal Developer Instance (PDI), which is the ideal environment to explore and learn without any pressure.

As we are learning,  I recommend spending time on the community platform, where you can answer questions and engage with others. It’s a place where you’ll encounter a variety of use cases, not just from one area but across multiple domains.

Don’t hesitate to share your knowledge. Create small use cases and post them on LinkedIn or within the community. This will allow you to receive valuable feedback and open up growth opportunities.

You can connect with me for 1-1 sessions as well.
