ServiceNow University : Creating Tracks from 0 to hero program

Hi, 

I work with universities and we are planning to roll out a track for ServiceNow.  

I am just wondering if anyone were able to create a track from 0 to hero program, 

For example : 

Basic :

Intermediate : 

Advance : 

Expert : 

University students are usually generalist at first, theres no right role for the meantime.  But we wanted to prepare them for the work that's waiting for ServiceNow specialists.

A good way to upskill the team is to use ServiceNow University’s My Team Training Planner. It helps you build a tailored learning plan based on your team’s roles and product focus.

You can use Build a Core Platform Team to identify the essential roles needed to manage and optimize your ServiceNow platform, and Upskill by Product to target training in areas like ITSM, HRSD, App Engine, and other products.

The plan can also be exported, shared with stakeholders, and assigned to team members, which helps improve engagement and adoption.

An additional benefit is that the core platform team plan provides recommendations on the appropriate team size for later daily operations.

Once you complete CSA, the path you take depends on where you want to grow — whether as a developer, administrator, consultant, architect, or in other roles. At this stage, you can explore the ServiceNow journey and choose the direction that best fits your interests and career goals.

ServiceNow is growing rapidly in both breadth and depth. The best way to start is by earning the CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification, which builds a solid foundation in platform fundamentals, terminology, and core modules. Once you gain hands-on experience through CSA, you can decide your next learning path.

Employers value professionals with multi-module expertise, so after completing CSA, consider exploring areas like ITSM, GRC, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps to broaden your portfolio.

Currently, the training is free, which is a great opportunity — though the real challenge lies in gaining hands-on experience. To overcome this, spend at least 1–2 hours a day engaging with the ServiceNow Community — read discussions, answer questions, and share your insights to strengthen your understanding and confidence.

If your goal is to become a developer, focus on building scripting skills using resources available on developer.servicenow.com. Regular practice will enhance your technical expertise.

Start with the CSA and then choose your direction based on your interests — whether as an Admin, Developer, Business Analyst, Change Manager, or Project Manager. A strong foundation will give you the flexibility to explore any of these paths.
