I've just registered with Kryterion and tried registering for an exam but it defaulted to the exam being a proctored one and there does not seem to be anywhere you can nominate a test center (there is one in Belfast I wanted to use).
Can someone tell me how you go about registering for a test center?
Also what is it like taking a proctored exam (in case this is my only option) is it complicated to get things setup? I understand you need two cameras?
Thanks!

Hi there,
It might be for the onsite exam, there is just limited space for the center you are after. Also the centers are really limited (I have to drive about 150 kilometers for onsite).
All exams I just do online. Just one external webcam needed. Webcam with about 1,5 meter cable should be enough.
I know documentation says you need laptop+external, though that's not actually true! Laptop webcam is not used. You could use it for the picture taken.
Be aware: you also need sound! I even had three times the exam got interrupted, and they wanted to check my sound 🙂
If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Rich,
I recommend you to do the proctored exam, it's easier to do it, you need an external webcam in addition to your own laptop webcam, that's it.
You will feel comfortable as you can do it from home and choose the best time schedule.
Cheers
Alberto

Hoi Mark,
I just stumbled upon your response regarding this and thought I try my luck.
I am planning to register for the CSA exam and I was wondering, do you have any webcamera suggestion what to buy, what is a good fit with all the right specs? I will have to order one due to covid19, it will take time to get here and I want to make sure I get the right one.
Mvg,
József

Hi,
Mark may have his own recommendations for a camera, but I just wanted to provide the camera requirements directly from their site:
-----
A camera with a heavy base and flexible neck allow for easier placement. The webcam you choose to use will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Video Resolution of 720p with a frame rate of 30 fps
- Minimum 50MB available space
- Cord length of 6 ft (2 m) or more
- Manual focus ring
- No auto zoom or auto focus allowed. These features must be turned off
- Built-in microphone
Please note: Driver issues with Internet Explorer and Logitech C920 cameras have caused delayed video loading video and may negatively impact your exam experience.

So as far as my personal preference, Logitech as far as a brand is what I go to. The requirements are actually pretty low...from Kryterion...so any camera these days I feel would meet the need.
