Task 09: Remediate Duplicates - Reset?

I am having a great deal of trouble completing Task 09: Remediate Duplicates on the configuring the CMDB. After completing it incorrectly, there is not anyway to go back and complete it again because there is a server record missing. Is it possible to rest the task without resetting the entire simulator and can someone please provide some suggestions on what I need to complete. I am very confused about the wording.

I didn't setup the attributes correctly and now that the duplicate record was deleted I couldn't perform the action again. What I did was to open the Remaining Windows Server, display the "Cost Center" attribute (Context Menu>Configure>Form Layout) and then set it up manually.. It's a workaround but the task was accepted as completed when I clicked on Validate.

This process worked guys

I have just come across the same issue as the OP.

I discovered an activity log entry in the De-duplication record relating to the deletion of the

Windows server record. I was able to open the link which takes you to an Audit Deleted Record

where you can select Undelete Record which restored the duplicate entry.

I then reopened the original DUP record and changed the state from Closed Complete to Open.

I followed the steps posted by Suresh above and was able to validate the task successfully.

And without having to reset the instance. 😉

How did you access the Activity Log Entry you mentioned?

This trick really works. The link is the sys ID of the deleted record. This link is present in the logs. Once we click on the link and Undelete the record, it restored and need to do the task again. Thank you.
