I've taken other certification exams that just print out a pass/fail, but you have to obtain a minimum percentage of correct answers to get the PASS response.
Back in the 90's when I was taking exams for Novell CNA/CNE the questions were weighted and you had to obtain whatever minimum score to pass and the number of questions was based on what you missed and if you missed to many questions you got kicked out and failed. I had one exam that only asked me a really short list of questions and spit out a PASS for me and was probably because the questions had a higher weighting on them.
