Assistance Needed: Stuck Upgrade(Zurich) and Missing Admin Credentials for my PDI

ChetanaPati

Hi Community,

I recently generated a new Personal Developer Instance (PDI) from the ServiceNow Developer Portal because my previous instance became inactive. I am currently upgrading this new instance to the Zurich version.

However, I am facing two issues:

1. Upgrade Stuck: The upgrade process has been running for over 2 days and does not seem to be completing. Is there a way to stop, cancel, or reset the upgrade? What steps should I follow to resolve this?
2. Admin Credentials Missing: I am unable to find the admin username and password for my new instance. I have checked the instance details page, but the credentials are not listed. Where can I find them, or how can I reset them if they are missing?

Any guidance or steps to resolve these issues would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Chetana

Hey @ChetanaPati , same issue with me as well. I started an upgrade last night and its still stuck with "Instance upgrade in progress" status. Well since its already couple of days for you, I would suggest to release the current instance and obtaining a new one.

If you would like to still access the instance (in case you have some unsaved work), you can try below steps to see the password which can be accessed from the 'Manage my instance' page.

1. Login to the developer portal.

2. Click on Manage my instance button.

3. Once the page loads, you will see that instance details section is visible, but you cannot click anywhere inside it (see the attached screenshot) . Within the instance details section, username is visible but the password is hidden (*********).
4. One way you can make your password visible is, by refreshing this page.

5. Refresh the browser window. While the page refreshes, the hidden details section becomes accessible momentarily (meaning, you can click on the eye icon to unhide your password). You have to be quick enough to click the unhide button to see the password.
If successful, you will be able to see your current password. I was able to find my password using this, you can see in the screenshot.

5. Other thing is, you might have received credentials for your PDI in your mailbox, when you requested it. So please check once there before you try above steps.

Hi @ChetanaPati ,

there is no way to stop the process. Only solution if it doesn’t complete is to release once again and request a fresh Zurich release.

@ChetanaPati  -

Unfortunately, you cannot cancel an upgrade once started. This is a known PDI issue.

Hi @ChetanaPati

The only option is release the instance, as PDI doesn't come with support so no other choice.

Now a days upgrade taking time and there are numbers of post for same. So either wait or release the instance.

Hii @ChetanaPati ,

1. If the upgrade is stuck and remains on the same page, you can release your current instance and request a new one.

2. To get the instance name, username, and password, navigate to the following link:
