Core UI and Now Platform

Hello,

I have not a clear idea of Now Platform and I am looking for a confirmation that the activation of Platform Analytics Experience announced with Washington realease notes[1] applies also to instances which use Core UI.
Indeed the release notes says that "Platform Analytics Experience is a Now Platform feature that is active by default."

My doubt is about our Washington DC Patch 9b being "Now Platform" enabled/active.
Is Now Platform related to the UI (Core UI vs. Next Experience) or not at all?
Is Now Platform optional, or all Washington DC instances are "automatically"  Now Platform?

Thank you in advance
Flavio

Now platform means both Core UI and Next Experience UI

1) The Platform Analytics Experience is a feature of the Now Platform and is active by default in the Washington release. This means it applies to all instances running the Washington release, regardless of whether they use the Core UI or the Next Experience UI.

Hi @Flavio4

What my experience says is that if you take a fresh instance you will get the Platform analytic as default but if you upgrade you need to install the platform analytic manually. I am adding @Mark Manders who is an expert in this area.

My doubt is about our Washington DC Patch 9b being "Now Platform" enabled/active.

Atul: As above, you need to enable it.

Is Now Platform related to the UI (Core UI vs. Next Experience) or not at all?

Atul: Not sure what you refer to in Core UI ? Is native view?

Is Now Platform optional, or all Washington DC instances are "automatically"  Now Platform?

Atul: Now Platform is not optional, what we using is now is NOW platform only.

Platform Analytics will be replacing the 'old' dashboarding and reporting. It has been around since the Tokyo release.

Washington introduced a migration center where you can migrate all existing content to Platform Analytics (or dashboard by dashboard). Once it's moved, you can't go back.

PAE will no longer be a separate workspace, but part of the menu structure.

With Australia, you can no longer create new dashboards/reports. Every new one needs to be created through Platform Analytics. Old dashboards and reports can still be used in read-only mode.

So to your questions: Platform Analytics is unrelated to a UI. It is the new way of working with dashboards and reports, no matter if you use the Core UI or Next Experience.

Platform Analytics is 'on' by default, even though it's a Store app and gets its updates from there. You don't have to do anything (except update the app to the most recent version, whenever a new one comes out). It's there, no matter what version you are on.
