Hello! I performed an upgrade late last year on all 3 of my instances. As part of the upgrade process I like to clone Prod over to my sub prod instances before doing the upgrade. Last year, however, when i was scheduling the clone i chose to not overwrite the user/group tables only to find out that during the upgrade it completely overwrote both tables! I remember reading an article shortly after mentioning that the feature to stop it from overwriting those tables was not functioning properly and that in order to preserver those tables you had to go about it another way. Can anyone confirm if this feature is now functioning properly or what other precautions i should take to ensure my user/groups tables don't get overwritten when cloning?
Thanks!

Hi there,
You mean the "Preserve users and related tables"?
After 1st May 2020, the "Preserve users and related tables" functionality has been disabled. Even if this "Preserve users and related tables" is checked OR not, this will not exclude and preserve user related data in the target instance.
If wanting to preserve users and related table, then add clone exclude tables and clone data preservers for the following Excludes:
- sys_user
- sys_user_role
- sys_user_has_role
- sys_user_group
- sys_user_grmember
- sys_group_has_role
- sys_user_role_contains
- customer_contact (only if you have the Customer Service Management plugin installed)
If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.
Kind regards,
